About Nicole
Nicole’s business journey began with a peculiar thing; a slug. A tiny, simple little thing, with a friendly face and a comforting embrace.
Nicole’s slug ring was originally created as part of a project at university in 2010, but his popularity encouraged Nicole to go on to create other Creepy Crawlies to keep him company. Nicole Iredale Designs was officially established in 2012, in a shared workshop in Birmingham’s historic Jewellery Quarter, after Nicole graduated from 4 years at the School of Jewellery. Shortly after, Nicole moved to the beautiful Forest of Dean, and spent the next few years growing and expanding her portfolio to include her jewellery, patterned insect illustrations and more, all created with the hope of bringing a little bit of happiness into the world. Throughout the years, Nicole has worked hard to create a sustainable business, with an aim to minimise her impact on the environment. As a passionate animal and nature lover, being eco-friendly is an area in which Nicole constantly tries to improve in, from using biodegradable packaging and recycled materials, to choosing ethical and sustainably sourced gemstones. She also spends a good deal of time moving snails to safety and flipping overturned beetles in the forest back onto their feet, then there was the time she successfully managed to remove a swarm of bees from her chimney..! Nicole’s continuous want to learn new things and to spend time helping animals led to her completing courses in Veterinary Assistance and Animal Psychology, and in 2020, Nicole began working part time as a Nursing Assistant in a small, independent Veterinary Surgery in the Forest of Dean. When she’s not working on her own business or taking care of the animals at the vets, Nicole loves nothing more than spending time with her gang of 5 adopted rabbits and her goofball of a dog, Hugo. Nicole has a small workshop in her home, where she’s surrounded by an impressive collection of houseplants, and she can also be found taking part in many local events and exhibitions, which you can keep up to date with by following her Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you’d like to learn more about Nicole, her interests and ambitions, then you can contact her via social media or email. |
